"Sun on the Rocks" 8x10 (Click here to bid on eBay)

This was a scene I painted from a shot I took from our trip through Tahoe last year in November. Mountain lakes are a lot different from the lakes I knew of in Nebraska. These you can see underwater for 30 feet, the ones in Nebraska, 3 inches. Click on the image for a larger view.

"Next Stop" 11x14 (Click here to bid on eBay)

This painting has been on my waiting list for a long time now. It was nine months ago that I ran around Manhattan with son Jobey and his friend Matt. It was a a marathon trying to keep up with the pace, and I wasn't able to stay in any one place to take shots of the city, except when we were waiting for the subway trains. "Daytime Moon" 11 x 14 (Click here to bid on eBay)

This is my first composition from a trip I took over to Apache Junction and the famous Superstition Mountains that border Phoenix on the east side of the valley. It started out as a cloud dappled sky, but by the time the sun set, the clouds had burned off to a totally clear sky. I missed a rare monsoon that swept through the valley only two days earlier. Now that would have been interesting. Click on the image for a larger view.

"Spring Melt" 8x10 (Click here to bid on eBay)

The stop at this one stream on the way up to Jackson Wyoming has given me at least four compositions now. I still have a couple of shots that were "down light" and lacked the sun highlights that I haven't been too excited about doing yet. For some reason the lack of sparkles on the snow and the reflections on the water are like an ice cream sundae without the cherry. Click on the image for a larger view.

"Sedona Valley" 11x14 (Click here to bid on eBay)

I wanted to get up to Sedona this weekend,(2 hour drive), for more reference to paint from, but that was out of the question after getting another illustration project to deal with. I did have enough time to drive out to Apache Junction near Superstition Mountain that was only about 30 minutes. Shot some great sunset scenes where I'm going to concentrate on foreground objects instead of the mountain. At least that's the plan. Click on the image for a larger view.

"Down in Front" 12"x12" SOLD (Click here to view results on eBay)

This piece was done from reference I shot last November in Lake Tahoe. The campsites had all closed for the winter just a few weeks before we got there, so the only spot easily accessible was Secret Harbor. I've painted at least six pieces from this location. Click on the image for a larger view.
