"Cantaloupe Quartet" 11x14 (Click here to bid on eBay)

To start with, I kinda miss-named this. For some reason I thought I saw two "quarters sections" sitting there, which would make sense, but there are three. I guess the third piece was added from another cantaloupe for balance. I shot these more than two years ago at our home back in South Dakota. My first try at cantaloupe is in October of '06 on this blog. Thanks for looking. Click on the image for a larger view.

"Crooked Caramel" 8x10 (Click here to bid on eBay)

This is my first painting for auction from my new home in Gilbert. It's been hard trying to get set up with the hardest thing to overcome is the carpet on the floor of my new studio that is going to get trashed. I hate to ruin it, but I just can't be thinking about making a mess and trying to spread paint around freely. Rolling my chair around on it is another frustration altogether. "Tangelos" 9x12 )Click here to bid on eBay)

This is the last painting I painted from the garage studio that I was working in at my daughter Kacey's house in Chandler. We came out to stay for the winter back in November of '07, but we sold our house in South Dakota in December and moved whatever we didn't sell to Arizona in January. Our new home is in the south of Gilbert in a development called Seville. This will be the 80th painting that I completed during those hot days and nights in that garage. It's a painting of one of the tangelos that our Aunt Mary gave us from the many fruit trees she has in her yard in Peoria. Click on the image for a larger view.

"Chocolate Glaze" 6x8 (Click here to bid on eBay)

I felt the need to paint food again, and one of the more fun objects to paint for me was desserts. Here's a Chocolate Glaze that I painted on a white plate once before. Click on the image for a larger view.

"The Midnight Show " 8x10 (Click here to bid on eBay)

I dug back into my photo archives to August of last year, when I took a trip to New York City with my son Jobey and his friend Matt. We flee into Syracuse, New York and drove through Scranton, Pa. on our way to four days in Manhattan and surrounding cities. Before getting to Scranton though, we stopped at Hamilton, New York where my son sang and spoke before a group at Colgate University. It's an amazing part of the country if you can get there for a visit. Very rural, but the small town that has Colgate in it's backyard, does have a movie theater that is right out of a Frank Capra movie itself. Click on the image for a larger view.
