          This is a scene of a stream near Lake Tahoe.

        Its actually a stream that drains away from 

        Leaf Lake which is a major collector of water

        draining away from Lake Tahoe. I caught the 

        evening sun putting some pines in the spotlight.

     This is a scene in the Mall in Central Park. They 

    have a number of impressive statues of famous

    artists, leaders, and important people that were

    financed and dedicated by different groups over

    the decades. This one is of Shakespeare and was 

    dedicated in 1864, on the 300th anniversary of

    his birth.

       Sister" It's not quite as famous the the two buttes

       This is a "plein air" painting, (painted on the scene)

     that I painted a couple of years ago while painting

     with the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, 

     LPAPA. A great week of painting all around Laguna.

     This was from my favorite spot. I painted this cliff 

     3 times that day from different angles.

     This is a painting of a Prickly Pear cactus that

    I photographed near Superstition Mountain near

    sunset. This variety is the most common but other

    variations can be very purple.

        I've decide to try to paint some nocturnes of

     some of the photos I've taken. I don't have the

     ambition to stand out in the cold desert so I will

     rely heavily on some of the color theories of the

     amazing Frank Tenney Johnson to try to translate 

     some of my daytime scenes.
