This scene was from Glacier Point, a place at the top of Yosemite that overlooks the valley below and gives the best views of all the famous cliffs.

From my same trip last year in May I shot some scenes of Yosemite's forest as I was leaving that day. The light was falling and there were some great raking shadows running ascross the forest floor.

My first painting in a long while turns out to be a painting I did a long while ago and never posted. It's painted from shots I took in Auburn, California in May of 2010. I'm getting ready to make the same trip to Auburn in just a few weeks and am really looking forward to it.
