Yellow House-SOLD- (click here to see Auction results on eBay)

SOLD

This was a house in Vermillion South Dakota that we shot the same day we shot the porchlight house. I liked the pale yellow hue of the paint and the sun striking the side of the house. The gravel driveway was kind of unusaual. These are great old houses built in the 40's and 50's. Click on the image for a larger view.

Great house, I love the light hitting the side. You have such a great style Mick. I'd say that house was built between 1910 and 1930, I almost bought one very much like it here in Maryland.

Nice fractured lighting on the side of the house, it really sets off the time of day. JLC

I tried to not get to sweet with this. I didn't want to look too much like Kincade. What attracted me to the shot was the evening sun raking across the side and across the yard. I wished now that I had come in closer on the scene and not let the front of the house compete withthe sun on the side, but with this composition I feel the cube structure of the house better. Sometimes it's a real dilemma.
