About Me
- Name: mick mcginty
- Location: Gilbert, Arizona, United States
I've been an artist since age 5, when I remember drawing an airplane better than my older brother. It was a bi-wing with a propeller, (not that I'm that old... it was 1957 and it was a racing plane), and it was encouraging because up until then, it was the only thing I could remember doing better. I kept at it, and now nearly 50 years later I'm still trying to improve my creative process. Now I realize you never get better than anyone else... just more unique to your own style, and become the best painter you can be.

Mick,
Just stopped in to see what you were up too and I'm again blown away by your consistancy. Good for you man, these are really spectacular. I particularly like the loose brushwork in the iced tea painting. A closer look reveals a real virtuoso.
Best,
Todd
Mick - I am amazed at how deeply you are able to see and record the colors of your subject matter. You inspire me to look harder.
Hi Cara and Todd,
Thanks for the compliments. I try to experiment or strech my painting and obsevation skills every time I paint. I'm constantly amazed at how some of the simplist subjects have more than enough interesting aspects to bring out. These fruits and bowl were screaming at me with interesting color shape and texture. Other subjects are a little tougher to see what they are going to show you, but don't let anything fool you. I've seen a single roasted in the shell peanut, shine brighter than these fruits.
Mick
Mick,
Stunning reflections from the glass!
Linda
Really, I held my breath looking at this one. The glass is amazing, but the mineolas, and lemons read so well. It's a pleasure to look at, Mick!
I too am amazed at your glasswork. I do mostly graphite and have a lot of trouble with glass. You seem to see it with an extra eye. Very nice job.
