On my last trip to the Grand Canyon I was lucky to have stuck around long enough for a last minute display of amazing light. It had been an overcast sky all day and I was ready to head home when the sun had finally dipped so low that it shot rays of light all across the canyon for about twenty minutes. It got a standing ovation. Click on the image for a larger view.

and another beautiful Grand Canyon painting - with the rocks and the light captured so wonderfully - I do love those rocks
