Sliced Tomato SOLD (Click here to bid on eBay)

I decided to try to get away from landscapes for a day. Mostly because the one that I was painting last night wasn't coming out as I hoped. Tomatoes are always fun, and we had a Taco Salad last night, and I grabbed the main ingredient before it got diced up for dinner. Click on the image for a larger view.

I'm really impressed at how you are always able to pick up the most subtle light and atmosphere. And the values and tones you create give such volume and weight to the subject.

That tomato is so deliciously sweet and juicy. Beautifully done.

There is something about this one that brings a level of hyper realism to it...awesome. When enlarged, it's almost a different painting. Very nicely done Mick.
