I'm going to post at least two paintings a week...minimum. Most will be 5"x 7" to keep things small, but like the first one...they will vary. I'll be including a link to Ebay to bid on these. Any that don't sell will be designated on this blog, and can be purchased for the minimum of $100.00
This is another layout I created form the shoot I did of some tangelos and lemons. The bowl is a little too small for the pieces of fruit, but I really wanted to paint it with something soon. Click on the image for a larger view.
Mick, Just stopped in to see what you were up too and I'm again blown away by your consistancy. Good for you man, these are really spectacular. I particularly like the loose brushwork in the iced tea painting. A closer look reveals a real virtuoso. Best, Todd
Hi Cara and Todd, Thanks for the compliments. I try to experiment or strech my painting and obsevation skills every time I paint. I'm constantly amazed at how some of the simplist subjects have more than enough interesting aspects to bring out. These fruits and bowl were screaming at me with interesting color shape and texture. Other subjects are a little tougher to see what they are going to show you, but don't let anything fool you. I've seen a single roasted in the shell peanut, shine brighter than these fruits.

Mick - I am amazed at how deeply you are able to see and record the colors of your subject matter. You inspire me to look harder.

Mick,
ReplyDeleteStunning reflections from the glass!
Linda
Really, I held my breath looking at this one. The glass is amazing, but the mineolas, and lemons read so well. It's a pleasure to look at, Mick!
ReplyDeleteI too am amazed at your glasswork. I do mostly graphite and have a lot of trouble with glass. You seem to see it with an extra eye. Very nice job.
