I'm going to post at least two paintings a week...minimum. Most will be 5"x 7" to keep things small, but like the first one...they will vary. I'll be including a link to Ebay to bid on these. Any that don't sell will be designated on this blog, and can be purchased for the minimum of $100.00

Yellowstone Pond SOLD (Click here to view eBay results)
Here's a scene of one of Yellowstones many deep dark forrest ponds. These are all as clean and clear as anything I have ever seen, except for the leaves that collect in the areas of no current. There were alot of trees that had burned and small trees that were taking their place. Yellowstone went thru a major series of forrest fires five years ago, and it will be quite a while before the effects disappear
Wow! That's the first thought that comes to mind almost every time I look at one of your paintings.
ReplyDeleteDo you teach?
Thanks Brendy, I knew the name sounded familiar. I checked out your blog and remembered you worked in pastel. I really liked working with them too until I bumped one on the way to being sprayed. You look like you have taken them to thier full range with the paper you use. I would like to see one in person because they just about look like an oil.
ReplyDeleteThanks for writing.
Thanks for your kind words. It means a lot coming from someones work I admire. People always ask if my work is oil or acrylic. They are surprised to learn they are pastel. I don't spray mine. I put them right up to the glass. I use non-glare glass and I think that really makes it look like a wet medium painting.
ReplyDeleteYou nailed this painting with absolute mastery!
ReplyDeleteLaura,
ReplyDeleteI checked out your blog and I know you realize how hard it is to get all these warms tones to seperate into the forms that they are. It's
amazing to me to how a lanscape is made up of cools and warms and darks and lights...and alot of perspective. They are fun huh?
