Cantaloupe SOLD (Click here to view auction results)

Here's a painting that went pretty well. I tried to not kill it by over rendering. Most of the brush strokes are direct and untouched after I put them down, and I really like trhe color feel. My only regret again was not laying the paint down as thickly as I want to eventually achieve. I'll get there. Click on the image for a larger view.

  5. I love the realism in this and your artistic touch. Layering enough paint is what I would like to learn, too.

  8. Hello, and thank you all for the comments on my work. For those of you that are dropping in to look at my art and read the comments, I want to encourage you to click on the names of these artists who comment. Like me, they are every day painters and are putting themselves out there with thier own styles and techniques. If theres one thing I like about maintaining a blog it is that it's just like back aschool. We put our work up on the board and cross our fingers to see if people will stop and take it in. I usually spend an hour every other day just catching up on what's been done by our online artist community. The painters are from all over the world but they feel like they're sitting on the other side of the room in one of my old painting classes. It feels good to be back in school learning from good artists and being in a friendly competition to put out the best you can on a daily basis.

  9. The colors and wetness in this piece are great - it looks like I could grab a slice right of the cutting board! I also like how the surface of the foremost slice looks like it has lines from the knife that just sliced through it. Incredible work!
