Rubber Ducky-SOLD-(Click here to see auction results on eBay)

SOLD
I always like the idea of doing bubbles. There's a great piece of art in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, that has one of the best paintings of just two kids blowing bubbles. From what I remember, it was a mid 19th century piece, so the wand for blowing bubbles was home made, and from what I remember the bubbles were made with about five perfect strokes.

I love this painting, when I look it I can't help but smile. What medium did you use?

Hey freckled!!
I used oil on a gessoed masonite panel. It's actually a pretty small painting...8x10, and in order to get the small bubble and highlight effect I had to have a pretty smooth surface to render on. Sometimes a canvas surface is better for a more indicated approach, but with this one the panel was best because I was trying to really paint stucture and surfaces as realistically as possible.
