I'm going to post at least two paintings a week...minimum. Most will be 5"x 7" to keep things small, but like the first one...they will vary. I'll be including a link to Ebay to bid on these. Any that don't sell will be designated on this blog, and can be purchased for the minimum of $100.00
SOLD This is my favorite treat that my wife talks me into either after, or just before one of these auctions end. They're great any time of year, but especially in the summer. Click on the image for a larger view.
you are starting to get more loose with the paint, at least in this one. I love the sketchy background contrasting with the much rendered ice cream and cone. It reminds me of Chardin. Keep it up!
I started this piece by trying to establish alot of the darks that I saw in the ice cream and then I was going to steadily add the lighter planes of color to create the top. It turned out that as dark as I made the background, I had to eventually put some mre darks into the creases of the ice cream folds.

This is a wonderful painting. The texture and the color of the ice creme -- are great -- real but still painted. This is my favorite so far.
