you are starting to get more loose with the paint, at least in this one. I love the sketchy background contrasting with the much rendered ice cream and cone. It reminds me of Chardin. Keep it up!

This is a wonderful painting. The texture and the color of the ice creme -- are great -- real but still painted. This is my favorite so far.

ReplyDeleteI started this piece by trying to establish alot of the darks that I saw in the ice cream and then I was going to steadily add the lighter planes of color to create the top. It turned out that as dark as I made the background, I had to eventually put some mre darks into the creases of the ice cream folds.
